About Us

Peace by Peace is a free-access, online peacebuilding manual for anyone living in a deeply divided society and wondering what they can do to become a bridge between “us and them”. This website provides how-to tips and advice for anyone wanting to start their own peacebuilding initiative. As this ongoing research project grows, it connects young peacebuilders from around the world and amplifies their voices.

Under the supervision of Dr. Anne de Graaf (Senior Lecturer, International Relations, at Amsterdam University College), research assistants have conducted over a hundred interviews with young peacebuilders, drawing on their wisdom and expertise. We are working hard to publish their stories and advice as a practical peacebuilding tool.

Through this platform, we aim to transcend geographical boundaries and connect individuals who are passionate about fostering peace. Our website serves as a digital version of the manual, offering an interactive map where you can explore firsthand accounts by young peacebuilders across all continents.

    We envision a world where peace is not just a distant ideal but a tangible reality, driven by the passion and energy of youth. Our mission is to make UNSCR 2250 not merely a tokenised effort but an actual way to achieve peace co-created by youth.

Our network

The Peace by Peace journey began with interviewing peacebuilders but has now expanded far beyond those initial interactions. Our global community consists of young peacebuilders and youth-led organisations from around the world. They are committed to:
